Day 1 — 

Getting to know the historical centre - Gate of the Mother of God, city fortifications, Gustav Mahler's House, Jihlava underground

Start your visit to Jihlava in the historical centre of the city.

- Visit the most important sights such as Gate of the Mother of God with a magnificent view of the historic centre.

- Explore walls and city fortificationsthat have withstood centuries and hide many secrets.

- One of the most interesting places is Gustav Mahler House with an exhibition on the composer's life and work.

- If you like adventure, don't miss the tour Jihlava Undergroundwhich extends under the entire city.

- Enjoy a romantic walk under the walls in Heulos Forest Parkwhich overlooks the zoo.

- In the evening, book a seat at the Horácké divadlo, go to a concert or one of the many cultural eventstaking place in Jihlava right now.

- If you are interested in technical buildings, don't miss the tour Jihlava collectors. It is a vast underground labyrinth of tunnels dug for the installation of technical networks.

- You can also admire the art of architects in St. James Churchwhere the magnificent church roofs are part of the tour. You can also climb the lookout tower of St. James, which is the highest in the city.

- Jihlava is a city with very interesting modern architecture, take a walk along the nature trail and use the SmartGuide. You can also join one of the guided walks through the city.

On the third day, go for fun and adventure in the nearby surroundings of Jihlava.

- Start with a visit to Brtnice

- Afterwards, you can take a beautiful walk to the ruins of Rokštejn Castle, which is located nearby. See this impressive structure, which once served as a castle and later as a fortress. The romantic nooks and crannies of this historical monument invite you to take unforgettable photographs.

After a full day of fun and exploration, you can enjoy local specialities at one of the restaurants. For example, the Kolnička restaurant in Luky nad Jihlava serves dishes with products from the local dairy and sea buckthorn farm. Definitely worth a visit!

Places on the way

Gate of the Mother of God

The gate is a typical symbol of the city. It has been preserved as the only one of the original five medieval gates.

Jihlava Underground

The Jihlava underground with a total length of 25 kilometers is the second largest in the Czech Republic. It hides secret passages and a mysterious glowing wall. It includes collectors and a civil defense shelter from the last century.

Gustav Mahler House

The house where the composer and conductor Gustav Mahler spent a part of his childhood. Today it is his monument and gallery.

Castle fortifications

The three-kilometre long fortification still preserves a strip of walls in Baroque form and the rest of the moat.

Český mlýn

The sports and relaxation centre in the Jihlava River valley offers a skatepark, pumptrack, cycle path and in winter also ski trails.

Water Paradise

The largest water park in the Highlands offers space for both small and relaxed adult visitors!
