The most visited tourist destination in the Highlands is undoubtedly ZOO Jihlava. You can visit five continents in one day and see over two hundred species of exotic animals. The zoo is open 365 days a year.

Enjoy fun and refreshment in the Jihlava Aquapark Vodní raj. In the summer, you can use the outdoor area with four pools with heated water, in the indoor area you can enjoy the pools together with an indoor water slide with a length of 108 metres and a separate wellness area.

If you would rather spend a family weekend "on dry land", then choose Robinson Jihlava Family Park - the largest amusement park in the Highlands, where you will discover dozens of children's attractions on 2,500 square metres.

If you are a history buff, we have a few tips for you on what you should definitely see in Jihlava. The city walls from the middle of the 13th century have been preserved The Gate of the Mother of GodIt is accessible as a lookout tower. The Tourist Information Centre is also located here.

It is called Český mlýn and you will find here, in addition to a number of sports attractions, also the largest pumptrack in the Czech Republic. It is unique not only in its length, but also in its mirror design, so that pairs can race on two tracks. The Český mlýn area is connected to existing and newly built cycle paths, which link the regional town along the Jihlava River along cycle path 26 with Telč and then with Raabs an der Thaya in Austria. Small cyclists can test their skills on the reconstructed modern transport playground in U Rybníčků Street, where a new cycle path leads.

In winter you can put on your ski boots and enjoy skiing in Ski Resort Šacberk, or run on one of the ski trails. There are 80 kilometres of groomed slopes in the surroundings.

Jihlava is home to Horácké Theatre - the permanent professional stage of the Vysočina Region. It has an eighty-year tradition and presents an average of ten premieres per season on both large and small stages. In the Heulos Forest Park there is Amphitheatre Jihlava, where thousands of visitors come every year for large cultural events such as the musical Vysočina fest or the rock Magma fest. One of the biggest cultural festivals in Jihlava is the June Havirenie. The traditional Jihlava havirská parade with the participation of 150 children in medieval costumes is accompanied by concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and competitions. Also important is the classical music festival commemorating the famous composer and conductor Gustav Mahler, who lived in Jihlava - Mahler's Music of Thousands. The International Documentary Film Festival Ji.hlava, which is one of the leading European documentary film festivals, has a global dimension.
