Jihlava is a nationally and internationally important road junction, the D1 motorway (E50, E65) Prague – Brno and the long-distance road I/38 from Kolín cross here, along which the European road E59 in the direction of Znojmo and Vienna continues.
The D1 motorway leads to Jihlava via exit 112. The exit is connected to the town by a four-lane feeder road I/38, which leads from Havlíčkův Brod and continues from Jihlava towards Moravské Budějovice and Znojmo. Due to the convenient road connection, Jihlava has many bus connections to the surrounding area and the whole country.
The bus station is 800 metres from the centre.
The railway connection is mainly by fast trains Brno - Jihlava - Ceske Budejovice and by express trains Renesance from Havlickov Brod, where they have connections to fast trains from Prague to Brno. Jihlava-City Station is 1 km from the centre. The more distant Jihlava station is connected to the centre by trolleybus lines A and B.
A parking system is in place in the extended town centre, with car parks marked by a blue horizontal line on the road. There are three parking modes - blue resident, orange visitor and purple medium. The mode can be distinguished by the coloured stripe on the vertical signs.
