The most visited tourist destination in the Highlands is undoubtedly the Jihlava Zoo. You can visit five continents in one day and see over two hundred species of exotic animals. The zoo is open 365 days a year.

You can enjoy fun and refreshment in the Aquapark Vodní raj in Jihlava. In the summer, you can use the outdoor part with four pools with heated water, in the indoor part you can enjoy the pools together with an indoor water slide with a length of 108 metres and a separate wellness area.

If you would rather spend a family weekend "on dry land", then choose the Robinson Jihlava Family Park - the largest amusement park in the Highlands, where you will discover dozens of children's attractions on 2,500 square metres.

The Gate of the Mother of God has been preserved from the city walls from the middle of the 13th century and is accessible as a lookout tower. It is also the seat of the Tourist Information Centre.

Discoverers will certainly be delighted by the open underground in Jihlava, the second largest in the Czech Republic. The corridors are in some places three floors above each other and in the deepest place the route leads 18 metres below the surface. A unique feature is the so-called "glowing corridor", the mystery of which will be explained by the guide during the tour.

The Church of St. James with its lookout tower with newly reconstructed historical roof trusses, one of the largest in the Czech Republic, is definitely worth a visit.

Jihlava boasts one of the most modern sports and relaxation centres in the Czech Republic. It is called Český mlýn (Czech Mill) and besides a number of sports attractions you will also find the largest pumptrack in the Czech Republic. It is unique not only in its length, but also in its mirror design, so that pairs can race on two tracks.

The area of the Český mlýn is connected to the existing and newly built cycle paths, which link the regional town along the Jihlava River along cycle path 26 with Telč and further on with the Austrian Raabs an der Thaya. Small cyclists can test their skills on the reconstructed modern traffic playground in U Rybníčků Street, where the new cycle path leads, before a bigger trip.

In winter, you can put on your ski boots and enjoy skiing in the Šacberk Ski Resort, or run on one of the ski trails. There are 80 kilometres of groomed slopes in the surroundings of the town.

Jihlava is home to the Horácké divadlo - a permanent professional theatre of the Vysočina Region. It has an eighty-year tradition and presents an average of ten premieres per season on both large and small stages. The Heulos Forest Park is home to the Jihlava Amphitheatre, which is visited by thousands of visitors to large cultural events such as the musical Vysočina Fest or the rock Magma Fest.

One of the biggest cultural festivals of Jihlava is the June Havířenie. The traditional Jihlava havirská parade with the participation of 150 children in medieval costumes is accompanied by concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and competitions.

The festival of classical music is also important with the commemoration of the famous composer and conductor Gustav Mahler, who lived in Jihlava - Mahler's Music of Thousands. The International Documentary Film Festival Ji.hlava, one of the leading European documentary film festivals, has a global dimension.
