Horácké Theatre Jihlava
Komenskeho 1359/22
586 01 Jihlava 1
The Horácké Theatre is the only professional theatre in the Vysočina region.
It has more than eighty years of tradition. It was founded in 1940 in Třebíč and after the war it moved to Jihlava. Today you can find them in a building on the corner of Komenského and Divadelní Streets. The ensemble plays ten premieres a year on the big and small stages. In addition to performances, you can also visit movement and theatre education courses in the Rehearsal Room, a theatre café or a club.
Jihlava's theatrical tradition is long. It dates back to the second half of the 16th century, but it was not until three centuries later that the city theatre acquired a permanent stand. In 1870, the then ten-year-old Gustav Mahler gave a concert there. The building underwent several repairs and was eventually demolished to open a new theatre in its place in 1995.
Ticket sales in the theatre arcade Monday - Friday 11.00 - 19.00 or until the beginning of the performance at 19.30.
