The seat of the town administration was built in the 15th century from the original system of town houses. The preserved premises of the town hall will show you the historical changes of Jihlava and its administration, across all historical styles up to the present day.

The Town Hall building on Masaryk Square has been the seat of the town administration since 1425. In 1505, the Holclin House was added to it and the town hall was enlarged. On the ground floor a wine cellar was built - the town council was the only one in the town authorised to tap wine.

In the 16th century, the town hall buildings suffered three fires (in 1523, 1535 and 1551), followed by a major reconstruction, this time in the Renaissance style. The most visible changes were the unification of the facade of the two town halls - the arcade disappeared, the entrance was decorated with late Gothic portals and a new roof with a turret was created. A court room was added to the courtyard.

The town hall underwent further major modifications in the 18th century. The south Kentlin House became part of it, and this was connected with the unification of all the town hall buildings into one unit. In 1786 all three houses were raised by a second floor and given a classical façade.

New for this year are the newly reconstructed baroque roof trusses. Thanks to the new walkways, the public can see the previously inaccessible part of the roof trusses.

During the tour you will learn about the historical development of the building and visit the representative areas of the town hall.

The participants will meet in the foyer of the Town Hall.
