Download the Hidden Stories app and get to know Jihlava together with important personalities.

The story takes place in 1647 during the Thirty Years' War, when Jihlava was occupied by Swedish troops. Swedish military commander Österling tyrannized the population like no one before him. Veronika, the daughter of a miller from Hruškův Dvory, stands on the walls and knows exactly who is to blame for the hardships of the Jihlavans: Samuel Österling, who is nicknamed the Fiery Swede in the city because of his red hair and explosive nature. Will the city be liberated?

The route has 9 stops, is 3.5 km long and can be done in 1.5 hours. It leads from the Wenceslas Parkan under the Church of St. James the Greater down to the so-called Silver Valley, where it bypasses the zoo and rises to the opposite slope, where there is a Heulos Hrádek on the hill, sometimes also called the Chateau. Then it returns to the valley to the summer cinema, climbs back to the city center and across the square returns to the parkan.
