Jewish cemetery Polná
Charles Square 540
588 13 Polná
U řeky Šlapanky v Polné se nachází židovský hřbitov, který čítá přes tisíc náhrobků.
The Jewish cemetery can be found in the picturesque valley of the Šlapanka River about 700 m from the main Hus Square. There are over 1300 tombstones, the oldest of which date back to around 1680. The cemetery has an irregular shape because it has been extended many times.
The entrance to the cemetery is decorated with a wrought-iron grill with a six-pointed star made by Erwin Habermann, an artistic blacksmith from Jihlava. The cemetery is cared for by the Friends of the Preservation of Jewish Monuments in Polná.
