The Baroque building with a large English park was built 1739 - 1747 by Maximilian Oldřich Count of Kounice on the site of the original castle destroyed by the Swedes during the Thirty Years' War.
The chateau is privately owned, and periodically the owners give guided tours of the chateau and the adjacent park.
