Controversial building dominating Masaryk Square
The Prior department store is a building from 1983 designed by Zdeněk Sklepek and located on the site of a complex of several townhouses standing side by side, the so-called Krecl or Spalicek.
The body of the house is complemented by copper sheet roofs, the flat building is visually divided into hints of imitation individual houses, which are intended to follow the rhythm of the houses of the square. Two supply ramps lead to the underground space of the department store, which disturb the square with their notches, and there are large warehouses and parking lots underground, created as bunkers.
