Brewery Jihlava

Are you interested in how beer is made? Book an excursion to the Jihlava Brewery. Part of the tour is a visit to the brewhouse, fermentation room and lager cellars, which ends with a beer tasting. Excursions are held daily from Monday to Saturday, by agreement and by prior appointment. The brewery will also provide translators for foreign visitors.

The Jihlava brewery is worth visiting. It has a long history. The oldest written record of Jihlava malting is probably from the first half of the 14th century. The first real malting statutes were confirmed by the Jihlava city council in 1579 and opened the way for Jihlava beer to distant markets – to the Viennese court, Ladislav the Posthumous, Emperor Frederick III or Archduke Charles of Styria and others. The destination of the exported beer was mainly Austria, in the Czech Republic Jihlava beer enjoyed a special popularity especially in Brno. The year 1859 was the beginning of the establishment of a joint modern Jihlava brewery, which was inaugurated on April 4, 1861.
