The place where King Ferdinand I entered the czech kingdom.
The Monument to the Royal Oath is located under the Prague Bridge. King Ferdinand I was solemnly welcomed here by Czech lords and knights on 30 January 1527 and the king swore before them to uphold the liberties and privileges of the country and all estates.
The monument was built in 1565, after the king's death. Its author is the stonemason Štěpán Tettelmayer. The surrounding meadow is called Královská, the hill above the river was named Královský vršek.
