Church of the Exaltation of St. Clubs

The Dominican church was founded in the middle of the 13th century and built under the influence of French Gothic. After six hundred years, it was abolished and handed over to the army. It served as a barracks and warehouse until 1947. At that time, the construction work carried out completely destroyed the unique space – the early Gothic vault disappeared, the windows were walled up.

Today it belongs to the city of Jihlava, which bought it in 2005 at auction for six million crowns. It carried out an extensive reconstruction and returned the church to its original appearance. In addition to the usual temple equipment, you will see a valuable pieta artifact, a sandstone statue of Jan Štursa.
