The majestic castle complex towering over the town

The extensive castle and chateau complex towering over the Peklo pond consists of the inner castle, the castle buildings, the forecourt, two courtyards, a park and the former garden.

In the preserved parts you can observe the architectural development of the area during the individual artistic styles - the Gothic castle tract with a Renaissance wing, the preserved part of the Gothic fortification - the parkán with a bastion, the Baroque castle part together with the fountain, dated 1693. In the so-called Kunštát Hall of the castle there are preserved late Gothic vaults and remains of Renaissance paintings.

The area belongs to the town of Polná and is an important cultural and social centre of the town. You will find here the Municipal Museum, the Primary Art School, the Cultural Centre with a cultural hall, the Chateau Restaurant with accommodation and a cinema.

There are aviaries with birds of prey in the castle park. The former garden has been converted into a summer scene. In the summertime, the area hosts a number of musical and cultural events.
