Gallery NONSTROP

Contemporary art gallery in the open air.

Nonstrop Gallery - a narrow but open space where ideas about art do not hit the ceiling, but happen in relation to site-specific conditions. The gallery is located in Malá Lazebnická Street, which is characterised by a very narrow medieval street plan and the jagged facades of the surrounding houses. The alley leads from the lower part of the main square to the walled area of the parish church of St. James, near the monumental mature beech tree.

For the time being, the gallery is limited to about one-third of the alley leading to the church. It is aimed at presenting contemporary art in an outdoor public space, challenging art projects that respond directly to the genius loci of the site and the open weather conditions. The Nonstrop Gallery opens the way for a discussion about public space in relation to contemporary art, in a broader understanding of the function of art in the public environment. With regular exhibitions we aim to bring new impulses to society and stimulate new public reflections on contemporary artistic expression.

Provozovatelem galerie je Střední uměleckoprůmyslová škola Jihlava-Helenín. Kurátorka a hlavní lídr je Viktorie Vejtasová. Hlavní pedagog je vedoucí atelieru Objekt a prostor Mgr.A Monika Vosyková.
